Although popularly referred to as the Zimbabwean crisis, what has been occurring in the country since the  call on of the  spic-and-span millennium is a complex and inter-related multi-layered and pervasive  mischance that can, perhaps,  better be described as a  series of Zimbabwean crises, for no aspect of Zimbabwean existence  fly the  pestil   ential personal  make of this phenomenon. The crisis has been evident in the countrys economic and socio-political life and the  veto ripple effects that emanated from a progressively dysfunctional state.

     While those directly and most   severely affected have been Zimbabwean citizens who have endured the worst effects of the countrys decline into collapse, the Zimbabwean crisis has had widespread  damaging regional repercussions. This has gradually led to the realization by Zimbabwes neighbours, through the Southern African Development Community (SADC) regional organisation, that they had to assist in resolving the crisis for the good of    the region as a whole. In the light of the !   above, this paper seeks to examine the   record and manifestations of the Zimbabwean crisis, its origins, development and impact, regional implications of the crisis and the various initiatives by Zimbabwes neighbours to resolve the countrys crises.
